Dr Joana Machado was born and grew up in Lisbon (Portugal), where she also graduated as a dentist, in 2006.

Soon after graduation, Joana moved to England (London), where she worked for 5 years before moving permanently to Jersey in 2011. ​ While in England, Joana started her training to become an Orthodontist, at Warwick University. Simultaneously, she attended a Diploma degree at Centro Europeu de Ortodontia, in Madrid (Spain).

Joana is extremely passionate about Orthodontics and she always keen to follow the new advances in that field of dentistry, attending several courses and conferences every year, in the UK and abroad. Joana can offer a wide range of orthodontic treatment options, including conventional fixed braces and clear aligners. She is both an Invisalign and Spark Clear Aligners provider.

 

Outside of work, Joana spends most of her time with her 2 daughters and husband, Dr Hugo Raimundo. On her “little” spare time, she enjoys going for runs/walks, playing tennis or golf. Her biggest passions are travelling around the World and learning about different cultures.
